The Integrated Baseline Review

The Right Start

The IBR is a valuable best practice on projects using earned value management. Properly conducted, the IBR can be a powerful and highly effective management tool. When not executed properly, the IBR can become a point of contention and a project problem.

The IBR process has evolved largely independent of generally accepted, industry-wide implementation policy on methodology. This has resulted in various IBR approaches, including the iterative IBR that supports incremental software development; a continuous IBR tied to research programs; the single IBR typical of production; and the tiered IBR necessary for large-scale integrated systems. Choosing the correct IBR approach is crucial to its effective implementation on a given project. Let Strategy Bridge get you started on the right foot.
